ST GEORGE MEN'S GROUP

St George Men’s Group is a group of men from the local government areas of Hurstville, Kogarah and Rockdale who meet fortnightly for social support and activities, speakers and discussion.

JOIN POLE DEPOT'S WALKING CLUB
   Pole Depot's Walking Club commenced in November 2004.  Walking adventures take place to parks, reserves and other places of local interest on a fortnightly basis, commencing with local walks, which are usually easy, with no steps or steep hills.  The average duration is one hour.  The group has already enjoyed walks at Olds Park, Moores Reserve, Brighton-le-Sands, Riverwood Boardwalk, Oatley Park and Como Bridge.
Everyone is welcome.  Come along and join us ... it's a great way to relax, exercise and socialise ... AND IT'S FREE!

The meeting place is the parking area opposite the Patisserie, the Handsome Hound and the Kite Shop, opposite the corner of Alice Street and The Grand Parade, Sans Souci (one set of lights south from the corner of Ramsgate Road (where Coles is located) and The Grand Parade.
Please note:  Do not park inside the gates as they are locked at dusk and your car will have to remain there overnight.  Park instead either on Alice Street or in the parking area on The Grand Parade.

EXERCISE CLASSES at Pole Depot Community Centre Hall

GENTLE EXERCISE CLASSES

Our Gentle Exercise group is open to all ages and is aimed at the health and well-being of participants and focuses on your exercise needs.  Facilitated by Kate De Mayo and Cheryl Stewart, both qualified fitness instructors. 

Tuesday 12.30pm to 1.15 pm and Friday 10.30am to 11.30am during school terms

CARERS AND COMMUNITY   EXERCISE CLASSES

Pole Depot Carers Support Service is running weekly Exercise Classes for people residing in the
St George area.

Friday 11.45am - 12.30pm during school terms


Dress in comfortable clothing that allows movement.

Cost to participants $4.00 per class.

THE CARERS DEPRESSION PROJECT

Do you have symptoms of depression?

Do you care for a family member with a disability, dementia, mental health issues or problems of frail age?

The Carers Depression Project aims to provide counseling and coping strategies/skills for Carers suffering from depression and provide links for Carers to access ongoing support services.

The service is free of charge and available for Carers residing in the St George area.

HOME HANDYMAN SERVICE

Pole Depot Community Centre is pleased to announce a brand new Home Handyman service for the general community.

They can help with all those little jobs that no one else wants to do! If you have leaking taps, sticky doors and windows, blown globes, smoke detector problems, need a yard clean up or just a small painting job, the Pole Depot Handyman Service can help you.

POLE DEPOT ON 90.1fm 2NBC

Commencing on Thursday 19th February at 1.30pm in the afternoon Pole Depot will be joining The Karen Mack Show at radio 2NBC. The show will be presented by Ray Burgess and will give us the opportunity to broadcast the good news about our services to a wider audience. This is a new and exciting venture for us and Ray assures us the show will be entertaining as well as informative.

Community radio has long been supportive of local centres and we are pleased that we have been invited to be part of their regular broadcast schedule. We are certain that there are people in the area who could benefit from the many services and activities conducted at Pole Depot, and by providing another stream of information we hope to accommodate lots more local families and individuals in helpful and fun communication and activities. We have something for everyone!

So join Ray at 90.1 2NBC on your FM dial each Thursday at 1.30pm for the latest goings on at Pole Depot Community Centre, some good news, some very good music and some excellent surprises.
