OUR REGULAR ACTIVITIES

Carers Depression Group
Meets FIRST Wednesday each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

This group will be available for family carers of a person with a disability, dementia, mental health issues of problems of frail age who experience symptoms of Depression.

It provides coping strategies/skills and resources, within a network of support as well as link carers to ongoing support services.

Joining the group will be free of charge, however, a gold coin donation will be appreciated.

The group meets 1st Wed of the month, starting from 6 April and ending on 7 September.

Carers of People with Dementia Day/Evening Support Group
Dementia Day Group meets THIRD Wednesday each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm and Dementia Night Group meets FIRST Thursday each month from 7pm to 9pm at Pole Depot.

For carers of people with Dementia. Our groups offer support, information on caring and a chance to talk to others who have had similar experiences. Free professional respite care can be arranged.

Carers of People with Special Needs
(Formerly known as Pole Depot Carers Support Group)
Meets SECOND Wednesday each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Pole Depot

This group aims to reduce isolation and provide educative support for carers of people with a disability or problems of frail age.

Former Carers Group
Meets FIRST Friday of each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Pole Depot
This group is for carers who have lost the person they cared for.
Former carers meet for information, coping strategies and to be with people who understand.

Carers of People with Mental Health Issues Group
Meets FOURTH Friday of each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Pole Depot

Carers meet together to share information and experience with people who have mental issues.

Carers Outings

Provide an opportunity for Carers of persons with a disability, dementia, frail age or medical condition to socialise with other Carers. Outings are held on the FIRST Tuesday of each month to a range of venues. For information, phone the Carers Support Team on (02) 9580 0688.

Carers Experience Course
Five Mondays from 5th May to 4th June 2012

Pole Depot Carers Support Service is running this course for unpaid carers who live in the local government areas of Kogarah, Rockdale and Hurstville.  RSVP by 13th April 2012.

Support Group for Carers of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
First Monday, starting from 19th February 2012 at 10:30am to 12:30pm

Pole Depot Community Centre will be running a fortnightly support group for family carers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders residing in St George.
